Our Story

Welcome to Obol Care, where we’re all about support, safety, and care. 

We’re inspired by the Hungarian word ‘Öböl,’ which means ‘bay’ in English. We chose this name because a bay is a safe place where people from all walks of life come together, share experiences, set goals, and relax. Being by a bay often sparks creativity, objectivity, and wonder.

We believe this vision represents who we are and is the foundation of our service to you. With over 100 years of experience and dedication between us, we’re committed to empowering individuals and fighting for acceptance. We’ll help you navigate your goals and reach your full potential.

We also believe in the African philosophy of Ubuntu: ‘I am because we are.’ Every moment of our lives, we come together as a community, whether it’s in person or online. We share time, space, and our personal lives and experiences. In each interaction, we treat each other with respect, kindness, dignity, and compassion. This is what being human is all about; it’s our ability to connect with each other that makes our lives richer, our communities stronger, and us all more united.

Our team is a diverse group of people from all backgrounds. We’re gay, straight, bisexual, Aboriginal, parents, grandparents, siblings, and people with disabilities. Our unique experiences make us who we are, and that’s what empowers us.
